A Barrett jellegzetes, fülledt pophangzását bemutató szám a 2024-es év első ízelítőjeként szolgál az év végén várható második albumról, az ’AFTERCARE’-ről.

„A „PASSENGER PRINCESS” arról az intenzív nászutas fázisról szól, amikor először lépsz egy új kapcsolatba – arról a gondolkodásmódról, amelyben bármit megtennél annak, akit szeretsz, csak hogy megtapasztalhasd a kapcsolódás szenvedélyét” – mesélte az alt-pop énekesnő.

A nyár elején Barrett csatlakozott Lana Del Rey-hez a Hangout Fesztivál színpadán, ahol a duó előadta a Barrett-rajongók kedvenc 2023-as single-jét, az „american jesus”-t az ünnepelt hell is teenage girl EP-jéről. Nessa kétszer is bekerült a Billboard „21 Under 21” közé nagyon fiatalon elért sikereivel és ünneplik őt világszerte, hogy nyíltan vállalja mentális elakadásait példát mutatva generációjának.
