King és az Álom doktor

Stephen King nem ismer kegyelmet. Félti a műveit és nem udvariaskodik azokkal, akik nem jól bánnak velük. Az egyik leginkább legendássá vált King-megfilmesítés, a Jack Nicholson főszereplésével készült Ragyogás például egyáltalán nem nyerte el a tetszését, és a mester nem fél tőle, hogy mindig újra hangot adjon az elégedettlenségének.

De dicsérni is tud. És az Álom doktor (Doctor Sleep, hazai bemutató: november 7.) megfilmesítése éppen azért nyert különleges jelentőséget számára, mert a Ragyogás folytatása: a filmbeli Jack Nicholson-nak az elhagyott rémhotel folyosóin triciklizgető kisfia egész felnőtt korában viseli a hotelben szerzett sebeket: a kísértetek követik őt – a kisfiú felnőtt korát az új filmben Ewan McGregor játssza.

– Nagyon, nagyon alaposan, jó néhányszor végigolvastam az Álom doktor forgatókönyvét – nyilatkozta Stephen King az Álom doktor-ral kapcsolatban. – És mindaz, ami miatt a Ragyogás-t utáltam, itt csodásan van megoldva. A néző borzongani fog, a szék karfáját szorítja majd a sötétben, az biztos – de közben azonosulni tud a történet hősével. Nekem ez is fontos.

Nem is meglepő, hogy Stephen King már bejelentette: további filmeket tervez az Álom doktor rendezőjével, Michael Flanagan-nel.
