A modern kert festői

A londoni Royal Academy of Arts nagyszabású, igen sikeres kiállítása nyomán készült „virtuális tárlatvezetés”

A kert a modern festészet fontos témája, ihlető forrása. A londoni Royal Academy of Arts 2016-os kiállítása mintegy 120 remekmű segítségével mutatja be e közkedvelt motívum szerepét, alakváltozásait az 1860-astól az 1920-as évekig, az impresszionizmustól az avantgárdig.

Vitathatatlan, hogy a korszak alkotói közül Claude Monet volt a téma legnagyobb festője, de a kert fontos szerepet kapott Van Gogh, Bonnard, Pissarro, Klimt, Nolde vagy akár Matisse és Kandinszkij művészetében is. Az Exhibiton on Screen tárlatot bemutató filmje révén megismerkedhetünk mind az alkotásokkal, mind a műveket ihlető díszkertekkel, így Monet giverny-i paradicsomával is. A kiállítás egyik szenzációja a mester 13 méter hosszú Agapanthus-triptichonja.

A nílusi vízililiomokat ábrázoló panorámaképet az idős mester 1915-től 1926-ig, haláláig festette, a mű személyes válasza volt a háború tragédiájára. Az 1950-ben szétdarabolt és részletekben értékesített festményegyüttes újraegyesítése a tárlat megkoronázása. Ma a párizsi Tuilleriák kertjében álló Orangerie-ben látható.
