A könyvrőlVajda Ilma és Gavenda Péter 1964-ben találkozik Szegeden. Még nem tudják, hogy ha nem is együtt, de egymás mellett fogják leélni az életüket: mindketten Árpádharagoson lesznek tanárok. Az 1964 és 2019 között játszódó regény mindegyik fejezete egy-egy év metszete: Ilma és Gavenda viszonya másokkal kötött házasságokat és történelmi fordulókat egyaránt túlél, de kérdés, vajon ellenálló tud-e maradni az idő múlásával szemben.
Szilasi László könyvében a történelem nem kulissza, hanem egyenrangú szereplő. A regény hol idilli, hol melankolikus, de mindig kristálytiszta és tűpontos rajz közös múltunkról és arról a törékeny erőről, amely két embert összeköthet.
