Nem volt konkrét film, amit referenciának használtak volna fel, de például a Romy és Michele – Szőkébe nem üt a mennykő (1997) és a Marslakó a mostohám (1988) hangulata erősen befolyásolta az írópárost.

Az űrlény eredetileg egy olyan fejlett társadalomból érkezett, ahol eltörlődtek a nemek, és azért szeret bele a bolygóba, mert itt megtalálható minden rossz és jó, szexualitás, ételek, emberi élvezetek. Az űrlény az idő előrehaladtával felvett volna egy nemi identitást.

Eredetileg a sztorit a planetáriumba írták. Úgy kezdődött volna a film, hogy az űrhajó benne landol, de mivel valóban beszakadt a planetárium teteje, ezt az ötletet kénytelenek voltak elvetni.
A főcím animációs montázsát Ákos a karantén alatt készítette el.
