Kőrösi Csoma Sándor külföldön minden bizonnyal a legismertebb székely-magyar. Indiától Franciaországig, Svájctól Amerikáig jelentek meg róla méltatások, tanulmányok, monográfiák, regények. Japánban az 1930-as években bódhiszattvává avatták. És az érdeklődés iránta nemhogy csökken, inkább nőni látszik. Ismereteink a nagy keletkutató és nyelvész életéről, hosszú vándorútjáról a magyar őshaza felkutatásáért igen hézagosak. Közrejátszik ebben Csoma közismert szerénysége, szűkszavúsága is, az, hogy saját egóját mindig háttérbe szorította, alárendelte a nagy célnak. Életének, utazásának fehér foltjait próbáltam kitölteni a mese eszközeivel. A fikció nem a valóságtól való öncélú elrugaszkodás, hanem a lényeg megragadásának módja a fantázia játékos, néha humort sem nélkülöző igénybevételével.
