Ewan McGregor nagy elődök vállán áll. Az Álom doktor (Doctor Sleep, hazai bemutató: november 7.) főszerepében minden idők talán leghíresebb, legsikeresebb horrorja, Stanley Kubrick zseniális Ragyogás-a folytatásában szerepel. A folytatást is Stephen King írta: A Ragyogás-ban a kísérteties, elhagyott szállodában az üres folyosókon tricikliző kisfiú, vagyis Jack Nicholson gyereke felnőttkorát mutatja meg a nézőnek – a rettentő eseményektől traumatizált férfi nem tud menekülni múltja árnyai közül. De McGregor nem sokat törődött a kisfiúval, miközben kialakította felnőttkori karakterét.

– Nem nagyon néztem meg a Ragyogás-beli kisfiút – vallotta be az Álom doktor főszereplője. – Újranéztem a filmet, de Jack Nicholson kedvéért. Nem tudom, hogy az emberben felnőtt korára mennyi marad az ötéves önmagából… de hogy az apjából sok van benne, az biztos. Azért nem próbálom másolni Nicholsont. Legfeljebb a hangját, az artikulációját. De akit én játszom az Álom doktor-ban az inkább távolodni próbál a gyerekkorától. Még ha a film során esetleg vissza is jut a lezárt, rothadásnak indult Panoráma Hotelbe…
