Sara, a fiatal pszichológusnő egy nemrég megörökölt, régi oslói házban praktizál, amelyet közösen újít fel ambiciózus, építész férjével, Sigurddal. Azonban mind a munka, mind a felújítás nehézkesen halad, a férfi pedig egy nap furcsa üzenetet hagy Sara telefonján, majd eltűnik. A magányos Sara egyre kevésbé érzi otthonosnak és biztonságosnak a félkész házat.
