Négy mindenre elszánt szociális munkás nőknek fenntartott nappali melegedőt vezet. Állandó vendégeiket fürdővel és meleg étellel várják, valamint mindent elkövetnek, hogy segítsék az emberi méltóság megőrzését és a társadalomba való visszailleszkedést. Amikor az emberi tényezőt teljesen figyelmen kívül hagyó bürokraták ellehetetlenítik őket, hősiesen szövetkeznek, hogy a szabályokat áthágva segítsenek pártfogoltjaikon. Úgy döntenek, saját szakállukra tovább üzemeltetik a helyet, éjszaka menedéket nyújtanak, nappal pedig azon fáradoznak, hogy kiépítsék vendégeiknek a megfelelő szociális hálót. Magánakciójuk azonban nem maradhat örökre titokban.

A láthatatlanok szeretnivaló karakterrel teli igaz történet, amelyben a profi színészek oldalán a hajléktalanok önmagukat alakítják. A film hazájában az év meglepetés sikere lett, eddig több mint másfél millióan látták.
