Élj úgy mindennap, mintha az lenne az utolsó!

Váratlan, lenyűgöző és vicces könyv egy anya kissé őrült fogadásáról. A tét: a fia élete.

Louis tizenkét éves. Ma reggel meg akarja osztani az anyjával a legfontosabb titkát: hogy életében először szerelmes. Thelma azonban, mint mindig, a munkájával van elfoglalva. A dühös és csalódott fiú felpattan a gördeszkájára, és leszáguld egy lejtőn. Az alján azonban belerohan egy teherautóba.
A prognózis komor. Ha négy héten belül Louis nem tér magához a kómából, már nem várható javulás az állapotában. Thelma kétségbeesve tér haza a kórházból, és a fia szobájában talál egy kis füzetet. Benne Louis felsorolta az összes „csodáját” , vagyis azokat a tapasztalatokat, amelyeket az életében át szeretne élni.
Thelma úgy dönt, hogy oldalról oldalra haladva elvégzi ezeket a csodákat. Ha Louis meghallja a kalandjait, meglátja, milyen szép az élet. Talán ez segít neki visszatérni. És ha négy héten belül Louis-nak meg kell halnia, akkor Thelma a csodák könyvén keresztül éli azt az életet, amelyről a fia álmodott.
De nem olyan könnyű egy tinédzser álmait megvalósítani, amikor több mint negyvenéves vagy…
