Nyáry Krisztián legújabb könyvében 1848-49-ben született levelek segítségével meséli újra a forradalom és szabadságharc történetét. Az ismert szereplők személyes hangú magánlevelei mellett az utca embereinek üzenetei alulnézetből mutatják be a tankönyvekből ismert történelmi eseményeket és a mindennapok küzdelmeit. Hiszen a 170 évvel ezelőtti emberek mást és másképp tartottak fontosnak, örömeik és fájdalmaik, reményeik és félelmeik emberközelibbé teszik a két esztendő krónikáját. A kötetben szereplő 163 levél mindegyikéhez egy-egy rövid történet is társul a Nyáry Krisztiántól megszokott stílusban.
